Yagga's Piccante Strips

This is an authentic recipe from sunny Calabria, in the very South of Italy. A quick and easy dish with a spicy flavour only requiring a few simple fresh ingredients.

You will need these ingredients:
2 x 200g boxes of Yagga Vegetarian Strips
2 tomatoes
2 green peppers
1 red chili pepper
1 scallion/shallot
1 clove of garlic
Some extra virgin olive oil.

Method:

  1. Blanch the tomatoes in some water and then peel off the skins.
  2. Remove the seeds form the tomatoes and cut into cubes.
  3. Clean and peel the scallions, then finely slice them.
  4. Brown the scallions in a little olive oil in a frying pan over gentle heat for a few minutes.
  5. While the scallions are cooking crush your garlic clove* (just give it whack!) and chop up your peppers.
  6. Add the Yagga Vegetarian Strips, tomatoes, peppers and garlic and cook for 5 minutes.

* If you want to be very Italian (!) you should pull out any green shoot that may be forming insid the garlic clove.
